Our Comprehensive Movers Guide!
We all need Movers
Moving can be tricky. There is nothing logistically easy about relocating several hundreds of pounds of boxes from one place to another. But if you’re going to do it, you should do it right with our movers and our comprehensive moving guide.
Top Notch Movers is one of the leading, independent moving companies in South Florida and we are expanding to becoming a regional moving company throughout the South East section of the United States. We can scale and transition because we believe in creating an excellent experience for our movers and that has brought us tremendous success. If you are looking for a moving company that will make your move easy and successful, we are the ones to do so!
Beginning your Moving Process
Only two questions. If you are going to move there are only two ways to do it. By yourselves or with an excellent moving company. If you are choosing between the two, let’s quickly weigh the pros and cons of these endeavors.
Moving on your Own – Moving on your own may save you money, but it will also put your body at risk, and it will cost a significant amount of time for your day. If you are a working individual who has a lot on their plate, it might be easier just to hire a moving company and curtail a lot of your losses.
Moving with a Moving Company – Moving with a company may cost additional money, but with that, you get movers who will do all of the heavy lifting as well as a moving truck that will make it much easier to move a ton of objects in bulk. This is the ideal choice for many people because there’s no good reason to put your body at risk when you can pay to have a professional mover get your belongings from Point A to Point B much faster.

Where do you need Help?
You’re moving and you know everything that needs to go and where it needs to go. When you are preparing for your move, you need to compartmentalize your time and prioritize the things that need to be moved. When you have a moving company that is coming in at 10 A.M. you better be prepared to have them bring all the belongings from square 1.
Where are you going? – Are you going down the street, across the county, or to somewhere else entirely? When you are filling up a Top Notch Truck, you might want to get the bulk of the belongings inside and have them go ASAP while you finish up in the house. Anything that cannot be quickly moved and are small and insignificant can be spent at a later time to increase the efficiency of your moving service.
How many people do you need? – How much stuff do you have and how many hands need to be on deck? The most common amount of movers with a moving service is +2. This gives plenty of time for you to manage the move instead of getting down and dirty yourself. But that needs to have a clear answer before you even call up your moving company.
Do you have any specialty items? – Additionally, do you have any specialty moving items? These can be anything from pianos and safes to gun racks and refrigerators. But more importantly, everyone needs to be on the same page when it comes time for you to figure out exactly who is doing what.

Meeting and Preparing for your Mover
Calling and Consultation. This is the biggest step you can take to hiring your moving company. You need to hollow out a solid hour or two of time before meeting your mover to ensure you have time to go over the building comprehensively.
The two of you will walk the building together and discuss pricing and how it can fluctuate due to your unique building. These prices usually have to do with mitigating mover safety and time taken.
What affects our prices? – The layout of the building, are there stairs, is it hardwood or carpet. What kind of specialty moving items are there and how much extra effort will be needed to move them effectively. What’s the distance, how long will you need the truck? Etc… These will be covered more in-depth when you meet with your mover.
Getting the Written Contract – When everything is said and done. You will receive a written invoice that will determine what the precise cost of the move will be. It’s important to have it in writing because this will be legally upheld by our end presuming there aren’t any hidden problems along the way.

The Night Before
The night before should consist of organizing and pre-packing as much as you can to save money and time.
Tagging – Tagging is the best way to identify where items should be going and how they should coordinate with each other. This can be done with sharpies, strings, tags, post it notes, anything that can help you identify quickly and clearly where something should go and what to expect from the contents of the boxes.
Stacking and Packing – Stacking and packing are the next big step. You want to pack the boxes to be roughly but not exceeding the weight of fifty pounds. This will make sure that the movers are safe and comfortable when they are transporting your goods from either of the places.
Getting a Good Nights Sleep – Finally, you want to get a good nights sleep. There will be a lot of work the next morning, so you don’t want to do any moves with things like hangovers or exhaustions or even mild symptoms of flu or colds. Make sure to take a Zyrtec or Mucinex because packing thigs will always kick up dust and debris and what not.

The Day Of
During the day of is when the culmination of all that prep time and hard work come together. If you’ve followed these steps, then you will have an easy time making everything work.
Work Smart – Work smart. Work hard, but take frequent breaks and don’t overdo anything. You want to work as hard as you can and not get injured or tired in the process. You also want to focus more on making sure the movers are having an easy time figuring everything out.
Keep Cash-On Hand – Keep your cash on hand. Anything from tips and tolls to motels and restaurants should be accounted for. if you are stopping off for a quick bite to eat or looking to make sure you can quickly move, you need to have cash on hand for emergencies.
Keep your Ducks in a Row – Finally keep it together. Don’t stress out and prepare for the best. Work hard to make sure that you are keeping everyone happy and stress-free during the move. Moving can go sour when someone has a bad attitude and it can damper the mood.
